12 Days of Giving: Day 3

On the third day of giving, my blog brings to you..... Not For Sale and the Not For Sale Store

Did you know that there are more than 30 million slaves world wide? And that there is more slaves right now than any other point in history? Not For Sale works to educate and equip people everywhere to help eradicate human trafficking. Peruse their website, educate yourself and then see where you stand.

From their website:

Not For Sale equips and mobilizes Smart Activists to re-abolish slavery — in their own backyards and across the globe. Not For Sale believes every individual has a skill they can contribute to fight human trafficking, and together we can end slavery in our lifetime.

Welcome to the Movement.

When I was in college, our Habitat for Humanity helped to rebuild a house that would be used to re-home young girls rescued from human trafficking. The organization gave us information, pamphlets and encouraged us to help aid in human trafficking. When we were done finishing the house, my human trafficking experience ended there. That was until a girl from our church became involved locally with human trafficking. And my eyes were opened again.

And so many of these young men, women and children traded for goods, money and other reasons were at one point an orphan. With out a mother or father to provide for them and protect them, in walks evil in the facade of a helping hand; a loan with too many strings, a work-trade agreement gone bad and there is the start of human trafficking.

There are many facets of human trafficking, so many angles that need to be addressed and fixed and the orphan crisis is one of them.

So, with that being said, want to make a purchase to help end slavery? Want to shop for freedom? Then check out the Not For Sale Store.

Here's a few of my favorite things from the Not For Sale Store:

think of the questions you may get if you wear this shirt out

I have a thing for bags! Especially bags that elicit thought.

and a journal.
